Getting Ready for YHSI Webinar

  Isaac Sanders  I  April 23, 2024

In November 2023, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development unveiled the Youth Homelessness System Improvement (YHSI) grants to support communities in enhancing or developing youth homelessness response systems.  Grant announcements for YHSI are expected to be announced soon, as of April 2024.

The IDEA Collaborative and System Change Partners held a webinar to show how our consulting teams can support YHSI grant recipients.

About the Webinar

YHSI grants will be announced soon, and recipients will need to work quickly to pull together resources and create a plan for implementation. We are excited to support communities in thinking through how to bring to life all the amazing projects you have been designing over the last few months, whether or not you are awarded YHSI funding.

We are a consultant team that brings deep expertise and knowledge on youth homelessness, including stakeholder and lived expert engagement, project management, process improvement, data analysis, including technical Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) expertise, qualitative and quantitative evaluation strategies, and anti-racism and equity principles.

*This webinar was hosted by System Change Partners (Liz Harding Chao and Vishesh Jain) and The IDEA Collaborative (Michelle Valdez, Jen Best, and Kira Zylstra). Our consulting teams do not represent HUD, and this webinar is not affiliated with HUD.

About The IDEA Collaborative

The IDEA Collaborative is founded on the principle that while system change may be challenging, it is indeed attainable. We are an experienced team of collaborators with nearly 5 decades of collective experience working alongside community partners to drive system change by combining extensive technical expertise and experience in adaptive change. Our team leverages our expertise as thought partners, facilitators, project managers, and trainers to increase local capacity and accelerate progress in addressing homelessness.

The IDEA Collaborative team has experience working with 14+ Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) communities, including large cities, suburban areas, and rural/Balance of State Continuums of Care. We have a unique view of the capacity it takes to impact system change and make progress.
